10.6.26: Poem Untitled 2 #56

Extended breath, as best i can, bridging
the gap, i sense, between the here and now,
a 4D life that’s real and increasing
in it’s reality, excusing how.

I take some desperate metaphysical
plunge, making up science as i go along,
that which, even for me, sounds the gull—
that I should dissuade every song—

songs that, for now, take a backseat to
a mean-spirited mathematical journey,
wasting time but for the gem I accrue,
grasping at science fiction straws, free,

i know, to doing something else, and unable
to help myself. I want too much, perhaps,
to be a part of that future, the stable
where i’d shelter my horse, and my maps,

as i step inside to my relations
with the woman, there, that i cannot hide.
I’m a creature of habit, of my creations,
pounding soda pop, or else I’m denied.

That’s just my religion surfacing—
a need, now, to suspend my disbelief,
and embrace the evidence of a thing
not seen, the hierarchy, to my relief,

of consciousness, that makes me alright—
the subject of His infinite design.
Is it wrong to think that I am the light,
that I’m the culmination and the sign

that leads to eternal life? How can it be,
if I dispense with fear and hatred,
and, in serving others, securing the glee
that makes this life worth living? I’ll be dead,

here, soon enough, it’s true—but my path,
i think, leads back to the beginning—
the consciousness i discover in the bath,
at my table, on TV, home to my King,

the source that encloses its happy tail,
and wags the universe to no end.
Follow me, dear heart, across hill and dale,
to the manifestation of what we tend—

His primal, holy mind. Bring on religion,
my religion, from the depths of what I
cannot know—sovereign of His son,
to myself, alone. I open my mind’s eye,

the means by which He would arrive,
making faith and truth one and the same—
the one the foundation of our hive,
the planet that we abide, making tame

our wildest fantasies—the life that, here,
amidst His linear time, we suppress,
as the infinite, in our mind, remains unclear,
a function of fear, decay, and duress—

and yet, also, the numbers that lead us to
the one, eternal, mind. I protect my
faith, then—the foundation of all that i do,
and will do, since i, for love, am meant to die.
